DataGroup Annotation Symbols

Annotation tools are available to create, place and store DataGroup annotation symbol cells and labels that read and display specific DataGroup instance data from graphic elements. These cells can be stored, edited and recalled for placement at anytime.

DataGroup annotation cells help establish and manage DataGroup property information for catalog item instances in the DGN model. Dependency linkages between the graphics and the cells synchronize the instance data with the cell to ensure that displayed information automatically updates.

DataGroup annotation symbol cells can be composed of text strings and combinations of text and graphics. You define the content and use of the annotation symbols when they are created and placed.

Annotation symbol cells are stored in a cell library. At placement time, the Building application (1) reads the attribute properties specified in the active annotation cell; (2) reads the DataGroup property values stored with the catalog item; and (3) populates the annotation cell with the applicable values found. Annotation symbol cells can be placed with or without leader lines and leader termination symbols.
